Born on 11 November 1994 in the coastal village of Pulluvila, Sanju Vishwanath Samson is a cricketer who changed the perceptions of what a wicketkeeper batsman should be with a combination of style and a willingness to take risks. The turning point here was reached when his relative left and returned to Kerala to provide a centralized environment besides cricket for Sanja. He quickly rose through the ranks of Kerala junior cricket, captaining the state at U13, U16 and U19 levels. His remarkable expertise was evident early on; At the age of 14, he scored a double century in just 138 balls against Goa during the Vijay Vayari Trophy.
